Apposite Possibilities

“Apposite Possibilities” is an exhibition of Ceramics and Paintings being held at Vernissage Art Gallery from 18^th April – 30^th April 2011 from 11 am to 7 pm.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Mr. C N Karunakaran, eminent artist and Chairman, Kerala Lalitha Kala Academy on 18^th April (Monday) at 5.30 pm.

Sushma Anand, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, completed her formal art education from Stella Maris College, Chennai before she joined Golden Bridge Pottery, Pondicherry to pursue her passion of ceramics.

Parul Shah, a self taught artist from Mumbai, pursued her love of painting after marriage.

Both Sushma and Parul explore and express their creativity through distinct and unique styles.

Sushma’s works are mostly stoneware and she has successfully experimented blending different media and style. Many of her ceramic creations have been influenced and inspired by the Kerala Mural Arts.

Parul’s works are distinctively figurative in style and predominantly her media of choice is Charcoal and Soft pastels. She explores and celebrates facets of womanhood through her works.

Both artists have participated in several solo and group shows in India.

Sushma Anand will be conducting a workshop on Ceramics on 19^th  & 20^th  April from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm.

Parul Shah  will be carrying out a workshop on Pastels and Charcoals on 19^th April from 11 am to 1 pm.  For more details please contact Vernissage at 9567866430/ 0484 4000903.

Demo on 27 February 2011 by artists Anatoli Soloviev and Valery Garaskievich

Mr. Soloviev  is a member of the Russian Union of Artists since 1985 and has been a teacher of arts at the Serov School of Arts in Moscow since 2006. His style is principally figurative and since 1978, he has exhibited extensively in Russia, Germany, France, Italy.

Mr.Geraskeivich is an  eminent artist from Russia and has been teaching drawing, painting and composition at Serov School of Arts since 1969 and has been the Principal of the school for the last 10 years. He has held exhibitions in Russia, Poland, France, Belgium and erstwhile Yugoslavia.

Geraskeivich used Oil colour for his painting whereas Soloviev used both acrylic and oil. The artists represented two different styles of work.

Vesna opens at Vernissage

'VESNA'  26 FEBRUARY - 13 MARCH 2011
VERNISSAGE ART GALLERY. 11AM -7PM

Vesna (Russian for Spring) an exhibition of paintings by 12 Russian Artists  gets underway at Vernissage.
The artists on display includes eminent artists like Anatoly Soloviev, Valery Gereskievich and Mansur Sattarov.

Councillor from Panampilly nagar Ms. Prema Padmanabhan inaugurated the function on 26 February 2011. Mr. Fyodor Rossovski, Director, Russian Centre for Science and Culture, New Delhi and Mr. Ratheesh Nair, Director, Russian Cultural Centre, Trivandrum were also present at the function.

Students visit Vernissage

Around 20students from Global Public School Chottanikkara, Cochin visited Vernissage Art Gallery on 10^th December to get acquainted with different artistic styles being presented at ‘WARP AND WEFT’ exhibition. Students were really enthusiastic to know different techniques used by the artists to produce such awe-inspiring artworks.

Operning of 'Warp and Weft'

“Warp & Weft” the exhibition of paintings by 11 artists was inaugurated on 4^th December 2010 at 5.30pm by  Dr. K G Paulose, Former Vice-Chancellor Kerala Kalamandalam.

This  exhibition  is  held  in  association  with Rightlines Art Gallery Bangalore. Paintings by eminent Contemporary artists Thota Tharrani, Paresh Hazra, Nikhil Ranjan Pal, Arpita Basu, Mustak Khan Chaudhary, Dewashish Das, Dipankar Ray, Sanjay Singh, Surojit Chanda and Sudhir Kumar Meher

Ms. Indira Bharadwaj  interacted with the guests about the artists, artworks and the genre.
