Vernissage Art Gallery in association with Moscow Chamber of Handicrafts (RF) is presenting Russian Handicraft Exhibition at Ernakulam Women’s Association Hall (Cochin, Kerala) from 9- 19 September 2010. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Mr. Cheriyan Philip, Chairman of Kerala Tourism Development Corporation on 9th September at 6 pm. It will be presided by Dr. M. Beena, IAS, District Collector of Ernakulam.
An agreement of Partnership will be signed between Mr. Devadattan Nair (Partner,Vernissage) and Mr. Leonid Koshelev (President, Moscow Chamber of Handicrafts) for promoting Art between India and Russia. This agreement will provide opportunity for Indian artisans to showcase their artworks in Russia.
Vernissage Art Gallery during its inauguration in June had promised an educational exchange between two countries by conducting programmes related to art by inviting artists from both India and Russia. During the current exhibit, a Russian expert in paper craft will take classes on the subject. She will also be introducing her expertise to the student of the Vernissage Art School.
The exhibition will move to Mumbai thereafter, which will be presented at the Russian Cultural Centre. In future such exhibitions will be conducted in major cities of the country.
