Vernissage conducted an informal get-together for the art lovers of Cochin to meet the Panchamukhi artists and Prof. Vijayakumara Menon for an Informal discourse on “ History of Art & Aesthetics “ on 16th October,2010 at 6.30 pm. The Panchamukhi, a group of 5 artists form Chennai comprises Asma Menon, Lakshmi Srinath, Manisha Raju, Razia Tony and Thejo Menon.
Thejo Menon and Asma Menon were present at the function and they interacted with the guests. Prof. Vijayakumara Menon, a prominent art historian and the visting professor of Fine Arts at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady and Institute of Mural Paintings, Guruvayoor,Kerala, spoke about Indian art down the years and the road ahead.
Vernissage had conducted a painting competition based on eminent poet Changampuzha Krishnapilla’s famous pastoral elegy ‘Ramanan’ on 25th september at the gallery. Prizes were distributed at the function. Mona S Mohan of RLV College Tripunithura won the first prize, Mili S. Mohan, student of Sacred Heart College, Thevara received the second . Ramesh Ravi and Eldo George, students of RLV College, Tripunithura won the third and consolation prize respectively.

Artists and Prof. Menon had an interactive session with the audience,
where queries on 'pursuing art as a career' and 'investment on art'
were made.
